Curtis Blake “The Maestro of the Metal Sandwich” returns with his band Greazy Gravy to the Schooner Tavern on Friday November 18th 2011.  Blake just recently received “The Best Blues Sideman ” Award from the Greater Twin Cities Blues Society.  ” The Greater Twin Cities Blues Society recognizes Curtis Blake to be highly skilled in the field of diatonic and chromatic harmonica  instruments.”  Curtis Blake is greatful for the recognition and is quite pleased to be a member of the The Twin Cities Blues Community.
The awards ceremony will be held at O’Garas Garage in St.Paul on Sunday November 13th. The Greater Twin Cities Blues Society will be giving out numerous other awards during the ceremony including; Best Blues Artist and Best Blues Record.  Curtis Blake won his first award back in 1990 when he received a W.C. Handy award for his harmonica playing on the Sonny Rodger’s hit single “Big Legged Women/Cadillac Bady.”
Joining Curtis on stage at The Schooner Tavern on November 13th will be  Jerre Maynard (Guitar) John Heck (Bass) and Greg Schuk (Drums)  Expect to see a  masterful performance on the harmonica from Curtis Blake at The Schooner Tavern that will broaden your appreciation of Harominca Blues music.   The music starts at 9pm   There is no cover charge.
